Amanda “Mandy B” Baker is 27 years old and a rising poker star. Amanda “Mandy B” Baker admits that the game helped her pay her way through college. The pro, who resides in Las Vegas, NV and quit an internship with a non-profit teaching businesses how to be more socially responsible so she could focus on the game, has won over $150,000 in major tournament events since 2005. This includes her recent first-place finish at the World Series of Poker Circuit in Indiana.

It all started with a friendly visit back in June of 2003. Amanda stopped by to visit a friend, a friend who happened to be watching the WPT. Within a few hours, he had taught her the basics of Hold ‘em and played a few hands with her. That was it – Mandy B had a new passion.

Amanda “Mandy B” Baker won Event #10, a No-Limit Hold’em tournament with a $1,000 buy-in. She played impressive poker, knocking out six out of her eight opponents at the final table alone. Amanda “Mandy B” Baker, who earned $88,368 to her tournament take for the win, loves tourneys because they’re ‘more fun’. However, like many other pros, she finds that cash games, especially in the $5 - $10 limit range, to be more profitable.

Before the win at the WSOPC, Amanda “Mandy B” Baker’s biggest cash was her 253rd finish at this summer’s WSOP Main Event. Amanda “Mandy B” Baker earned over $44,000 for that.

Amanda “Mandy B” Baker, an active environmentalist, proved that she is willing to put her money where her mouth is. She plans to donate 50% of her bank from the WSOPC to environmental groups.

Full Tilt Poker announced earlier this week that they’ve signed this up-and-comer to their growing roster of pros. She joins other newbies such as Julian Gardner, Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby, Nikolaus “kaibuxxe” Jedlicka, Jon “PearlJammer” Turner, Peter “Nordberg” Feldman and Peter Jepson.
